Poll: The Vega Review Thread.

What do we think about Vega?

  • What has AMD been doing for the past 1-2 years?

  • It consumes how many watts and is how loud!!!

  • It is not that bad.

  • Want to buy but put off by pricing and warranty.

  • I will be buying one for sure (I own a Freesync monitor so have little choice).

  • Better red than dead.

Looking at the Anandtech results the consistent theme is that Vega 64 Air is consistently slower than GTX 1080 FE and consumes around 50% more power. It's also hotter and louder.

I was reading the same review and not that you would buy a card like a Vega64 for 1080p but my god the 1080p performance numbers for these cards are truly shocking. There must be some severe CPU bottlenecking going on there (the CPU is probably having all the draw calls loaded into one core by the HS), AMD have had two chances to fix it's stupid hardware scheduler now and Vega represents their best efforts.

I'm really interested to see AdoredTV's analysis on this card, 60% boost in clock speed yet were only seeing a 20%/25% improvement in FPS over a Fury X. The question has to asked where has all the extra performance gone?

Don't see why people are calling for Rajas head & claiming the end of AMD. It's exactly what was expected. It's not great, it's not terrible. It's just "meh". Lets give it a few weeks and see how drivers mature.
