Poll: The Vega Review Thread.

What do we think about Vega?

  • What has AMD been doing for the past 1-2 years?

  • It consumes how many watts and is how loud!!!

  • It is not that bad.

  • Want to buy but put off by pricing and warranty.

  • I will be buying one for sure (I own a Freesync monitor so have little choice).

  • Better red than dead.

It's a shame AMD couldn't do better.

I remember (not too long ago) when the R9 290/x GPU's were released and they were faster than anything Nvidia had at the time, with 1GB more VRAM.

These are barely keeping pace with a 1 year old GPU, and by all accounts they are noisy and power hungry.

Terrible show from AMD, been ready to click the order button on a 1080 or Ti for ages, price has just gone up and up, but I just ordered a TI for 800CHF (£634), so happy days in the attend, long time coming. AMD should put all resources into Zen 2 from now on!

This whole release reeked of mediocre performance from a long time ago, with the way AMD have been acting. As that supposed former employee said, better to drip feed an under performing product. The 56 sounds decent but not sure what to do now (currently on a 290).

Edit - no 56 for pre-order yet? When is stock due? And 15mhz overclock on the WC (post below) - WTF!!?

Polar opposites when it comes to Ryzen/TR's release compared to this.

The watercooler version max overcook 15mhz in one review :(

we need a crying smiley.

Kitguru had the air version pushing 1800hz at one point- although Heathrow airport is a quieter place

We will continue to test overclocking performance with our RX Vega64 air-cooled sample. We have heard reports that 1900MHz may be possible and the brief time it took us to see 1727-1832MHz gives us confidence in pushing higher.

although power will be up, doesn't help BG are increase elect prices lol
