No it was posted by th OP saying he had found it and it was one he wanted :)

Well its an l reg car... and you are paying a mint price.

However, should you run it for 3 years and it doesnt cost you as much much (including hassle) as the average 13 year old sports car then you can turn round and say it was worth it.

If you end up paying over the odds and the car costs you then, it wasnt.

You decide what else you can get for the money, wheight up running costs and attribute other cost risks, decide on practicality compromises.

If you are paying over the odds market value wise for a particular car, then you have to think its worth the extra.

You have to make the call.

The decision's going to be left for another day. My choice? No. My ******* dad's starting to **** me off with his ******* stupid avoidance of it all. Thinking that if he sits there talking about how the MOT system failed the other day for a whole ******* hour he can turn round and go "Oh, it'll be dark about half hour after we get there. Can't go - should have told me earlier". Well daddykins, I told you YESTERDAY

uhh, mate- why do you need your dad there? Your money, your choice etc.

I'd love a mr2 turbo now, insurance is a bit of a killer though (plus may be driving 100+ miles a day for work soonish (unless I move) so its not the best of ideas).

I suppose I'm too courteous to buy a car without my dad present. He's been a motor trader for 26 years and so it'd feel like a snub to me if he didn't see it. Not that he can offer a great opinion, mind - he thinks the car is a completely ridiculous purchase, and by his own admission knows nothing about MR2's.

I hate being held up to buy a car with the cash in your hand to buy it, going through the same thing here. Been car-less for a week now :/

In a similar position with my gf and her dad. He's been trained as a quantative surveyer and before we put an offer in on a house he wants too have a look. TBH mate just go and have a look at it yourself and if your happy with it then go for it.

Have you got any mates in the know so to speak who can check it out with you?
