The WANT thread (again)

The 22B was always the priciest one but that is absurd. The car market for old cars is mental at the moment.

Been following the prices of these for a while now, rewind to 6-7 years ago and you could pick a good one up for 30k you would need double that now.
I bought a good low mileage sti

5 years ago for 6.5k and have just sold it for 6k with rusty arches, curbed wheels and knocking rear suspension :D

It has always been and will continue to be my dream car.

I am sure it is not to everyone taste, especially the styling, but it was styled and built for a purpose not to look good.

Even just a standard one would be nice, a real bargain at less than half the price of the Evo :)

I thought i was the only strange person in the world to want the 288 GTO. Awesome car. I'm sure I've got the story about it in an old magazine lying around somewhere and how it was basically the F40 test bed. Bonkers car.:)

Saving slowly for a Nissan R33 GT-R. Would like the R34 but that's way, way out of my price range.

Realistic second car i'm hankering after for legal fun around the local lanes.

For daft daily i'm (guiltily) tempted by a GLA45 (although you don't seem to be able to get them without the daft spoiler) but i'm not sure i can live with myself so maybe a V6D F-Pace

Completely agree, unrealistic temptation is totally a singer

20mpg around town......lol. :D

I did 7 miles around Glasgow back in June in my ST220 before getting on the motorway, reset trip at the start of those 7 miles as I had filled up and engine was already warm. Try 12 mpg. :D

My last tank was 25 mpg in mixed running, they're thirsty cars.

Bloody hell that's terrible

This is on my want list. Drove one on Tuesday and I did like it, a lot. I've read people saying they aren't all that but to me it was quick. The one I drove had the milltek exhaust which sounded awesome but would annoy me on long runs. Understeered quite easily which I wasn't expecting - big car, nose heavy I guess. It's still on the list but I can see it being a short ownership just to get it out of my system.

I was once lucky enough to get a passenger ride in an Evoluzione version around Nardo.

On the day the tune was apparently over 650 BHP, it had acceleration of 0-60 2.8 seconds, we hit a top speed of over 220 mph, all that in a 1980's car, as you say totally bonkers :cool:

Ha!

Personally I'm not happy as I'm finally in a position to buy a tastey motor and most of the nice old stuff has gone up in price unbelievably so.
