My system is pretty capable, i7 920 @4ghz, 6gb DDR3, GTX 460 Hawk (Super OC). With Skyrim and BF3 coming up I feel as though my GPU lets me down. Soo I'm ready to upgrade but I wan't something significantly better and I don't think such a thing exists yet.
My card is stable at 820 core, Shader-1640, mem 1800 but it can run at 920,1840,2050 although it does usually crash after an hour or so.

I'm wondering when the 6990 or GTX 590 range is out? Or if there are any realy good cards to hold out for? I think I saw an ATI card with 4gb VRAM on it but I haven't been able to locate it since.
Not looking for SLI setup, I have a 650w Corsair TX power supply also if that helps. Many thanks.

6990 (advertised as 4GB but effectively only 2GB) and 590 have been released although the 590 is having to undergo a re-release soon. Nevermind though because I wouldn't bother with either unless you are willing to upgrade the PSU.

HD 6970 or GTX 580 is the best you are looking at for single cards out now.

PSU upgrade is no issue at all, also should mention that whilst budget is theoretically unlimited, I couldn't justify spending more than £450 on a card. I guess the 6970 may drop when the 90 comes out so I'll hang fire a bit longer, thanks for the suggestions.
