Suprisingly quiet weekend for the Prem. Games on monday, tuesday and wednesday, but only a few today, and none tomorrow:

Arsenal v Tottenham, 12:45
Bolton v Charlton, 15:00
Everton v Birmingham, 15:00
Newcastle v West Brom, 15:00
Portsmouth v Sunderland, 15:00

Haven't got the time for any kind of full writeup, so I'll just stick to the basics:

Tottenham - boooo.

4th place at stake, CL football, one of the biggest North London derbies ever, blah blah blah, you've heard it all already really. Despite Wenger's promis to rotate the probably quite tired team ahead of our second leg CL game on tuesday, I can't actually see him changing much. With Fat Sol and Cashley still out the back four is unlikely to change, and I think only Reyes and Adebayor will be the additions further up, with two from Hleb/Pires/Ljundberg making way for them. Should be a cracking match, regardless of whether the football is any good.

COME ON LADS!

Man.U. aren't playing this weekend.

The real important fixtures:

The FA Cup semis
Saturday, 22 April 2006
Chelsea v Liverpool, 17:15

Sunday, 23 April 2006
Middlesbrough v West Ham, 16:00

Swindon v Brentford, 15:00

British Rail (or whoever it is) have in their wisdom scheduled major trackworks en route to Manchester so the Chelsea fans who took the clubs subsidised train travel option are expecting a loooong day:(
I'm not going as I have some rather big plans this weekend, let's just say I've got a bet on Chelsea winning 4-0;)

The biggest derby for decades and my back is still giving me real grief, so I have to watch it on the box, we'd better xxxxxxxx win, or I'm going to go xxxxxxx mental.

COME ON YOU GUNNERS!!!!

CAnt see it going any other way than a gunners victory!! ;)

Dam - cant watch the Chelsea/liverpool game (unless they show it in the oxo tower lol) wanted to watch this one aswell! :(

1-1 draw, you heard it here first! :D Come on spurs! :p

The premier league have given special dispensation for Glenn Roeder to stay in charge for the rest of the season.
He hasnt got the required coatching badges and therefore should only be in temporary charge for 12 weeks , ending today.
He has done a great job since taking over and I have a feeling he'll get the job full time , would be dissapointed if he did , he's not the man to take us forward.

Steve "the power" Taylor and Michael Owen both make the squad today but I very much doubt we'll see either one of them on the pitch.
Shearer is out as is Parker and it looks like Ameobi is too.
Mackem destroyers Luque and Chopra look to be our only forwards available.
Shay Given has been handed the captaincy for the season remaining games.

Toon FACTS:
This will be our 500th game in the premier league and , hopefully , our 250th win.

I think it will be a tough game today but we need to dig deep and battle for the three points to boost our unlikely UEFA cup spot.

Ha'way the lads.

Im off to old trafford in an hour or two for the Liverpool Chelsea game. Minibus of 16 of us 'Kop Ultras' :D going down to Salford Quays for some beers before the action. Should be quite a pleasant afternoons entertainment. Word on the street is that the Liverpool fans have some redecoration planned for old trafford ;)

It's going to be an unbeliveably tense game. Neither side will want to give away the first goal. I imagine Liverpool will line up with Crouch up front on his own with Garcia playing just off him but you never just know what Rafa has up his sleeve. Gutted that Fowler is cup tied as he has had the midas touch recently when it comes to goals.

I predict a Liverpool victory on penalties.

Team news:

Arsenal skipper Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas and Emmanuel Eboue are left on the bench, Freddie Ljungberg and Alexander Hleb are rested with Jose Reyes, Robin van Persie, Johan Djourou, Abou Diaby and Emmanuel Adebayor coming in.

Spurs named Jermain Defoe and captain Robbie Keane in attack with Mido injured, Jermaine Jenas misses out but Edgar Davids and defender Anthony Gardner start.

   WTF is Wenger doing

I hope you haven't put too much on, wouldn't like to see you losing too much money ;)

Should be a good match, it'll be nice to beat Chelsea in a semi-final 2 years in a row :)

Halftime 0-0 at Highbury

I have to say Spurs are on top though the same was said last week against Manyoo and we didn't make the most of our chances.

Looking at the bench's, Arsenal could nick it with the better options. I just hope Spurs can come out second half and nick a goal before Henry and Fabregas are introduced.

Overall delighted with the performance so far, the run by Carrick just before halftime should have resulted with a goal but sadly he was greedy and overan it into the sidenetting.

Still all to play for, great game so far. :D

Arsenal now used all their subs, first Eboue and now Fabregas and Henry on.

Spurs not used a single sub so far, Subs: Cerny, Naybet, Kelly, Murphy, Barnard.

I can see Murphy and Barnard beng introduced quite late after 80 minutes or so.
