I messaged about this a while ago but I'm still no closer to fixing it.

The short version- Laptop will not boot any form of Windows either by bootable USB or HDD. Problem came after a windows update. Will boot Linux from USB and HDD.

I have a Linx 14 inch laptop with a 120gb SSD and the inbuilt 64gb drive. I had windows on the 120gb drive. Everything was working great. Windows did an update and after this the laptop refused to boot. Would only boot into uefi and not find drive with windows on at all when you look in the bios. Tried to put a bootable windows usb in but it wouldn't pick that up either.

I have since made a bootable USB for Linux and it finds that perfectly even though it was the same usb stick. I have installed Linux on the machine but even that seems to be unstable but I'm not sure if that's normal as it's been years since I used Linux daily.

I just want to find a way to install windows back on the laptop but I can't find anything online. There are people that have experienced a similar issue with windows Linx tablets. They just presume it's bricked and throw it away. I would like to get it working as it's a perfectly working laptop. I have worked with pc's my whole life and have never come across an issue like this.

Please help

Nevermind, after typing all that I realised you had already booted successfully off disk in linux. Windows seems to have issues sometimes during updates with multiboot systems, get's confused over the active boot partition.

Might need to clear all disks and do a fresh install of windows to sort? Or try taking out the 120gb SSD and see how you get on with just the internal one?

Thanks Fizzy. I have tried with just internal and still no luck. The issue happened before even dual booting. It won't even find the usb if it has windows on. If it has Linux or is empty then it shows up. If there is windows on there then it won't boot or show

I haven't tried contacting them yet so that is a good shout. There is nothing online about a bios update for my model. The monitor is working on the laptop as it boots straight to the uefi if nothing else is detected. I can see it on the screen. With a Linux drive it will boot into that. It's the Linx 14 inch laptop with a 4200 intel CPU
