I see a lot of bag threads that come up here. How about we make this the official bag discussion thread? It's a pretty important subject; how we carry our kit around with us.

Let's get the ball rolling!

My equipment list has jumped over the last couple of months and I've out grown my Lowepro AW200 slingshot bag, it's physically impossible to get everything in there now.

I'm looking for a bag that will hold the following

5DMKIII (with a grip)
EF 24-105L + hood
EF 70-300L + hood
EF 100L Macro (soon to purchase)
Sigma 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM
580EXii Flash Gun
Spare batteries
Memory card
Lens cleaners

Tripod? - I'm interested in hearing how you carry your tripod around.

Any recommendations? I quite like the sling design as it means access to the camera is very easy and quick.

Lowepro do the 500 AW, but its pricey. Good space in there though and you can carry it on your back.

That looks nice and seems like it would accommodate my equipment, including my 70-300L with the hood attached. You're not kidding about it being pricey though, but it's a small price to pay for keeping the precious equipment protected.

Rule 1 - get a bag that is slightly larger than you need.
Rule 2 - make sure it is rain proof or at least can stand a short period in the rain
Rule 3 - it gets to a point where if its too big, get a case instead and a bag for trips.

Tripod? I carry that in the car.

Nice tips, thanks.

I've seen some sling bags that are made by Kata which have my interest. Again, they aren't cheap though.

I'm guessing that Sling bags probably don't work very well the larger they get, hence why there aren't many large ones. I think that Kata bag is the largest sling type that I've seen.

I still haven't made a decision! It's getting silly now as my equipment has grown that I'm unable to take everything with me.

Leaning towards the LowePro AW400 Flipside.
