The window is in!

Dont know if anyone knows what the weather in Wigan was like yesterday,
but it wasn't really suitable for drills and dremels outdoors.
Regardless of this, I braved the cold and got VERY pink hands for my trouble
FML

I also made a pretty good window in my case, so I can atleast have a shiney to gawp at

As you can see, I went with something much more typical than I originaly planned, after someone PS'd a suggestion that I like better than any that I did.

Yeah it is good fair play.

I especially like how theres no blowhole trim like on some other window mods, so it looks like an original item.

Ye I really like the big window, good job. Any instructions on how you did it and what you used? Im getting a fractal define xl, I may do something like you've done but wouldn't know where to begin.

Tape all the way round is how i saw it done on youtube, i imagine it would be better than glue

Was really easy to do actually, it's measuring up that's hard to do.
Tools needed;
-Dremel and atleast 10 resin discs (some break, and they get rinsed quick as it is)
-Drill with a 54mm hole saw
-No Nails on a Roll (Available from B&Q)
-Medium round back metal file
-WetnDry paper @ 180g, 250g and 400g used dry (You CAN use 1000g if you really want, but I dont think it's neccessary)
-Good masking tape (blue stuff)
-White spirits
-A steady dremel hand
-4mm acrylic panel in your size and colour/transparency

How;
-Mask up your panel
-Measure up lallowing 2cm overlap for double sided tape aplication (no nails on a roll) and draw our your cutting lines on the masking tape
-Cut 4x holes with the hole saw at the corners
-Cut your straight lines with the dremel and resin discs
-Remove masking tape and use file to de-bur all your cuts and straighten up your dremel cuts further- you will see how wonky they are if you look down them
-Use wet n dry paper to smooth out your filing, using finer and finer grades to go smoother.
(Now you can go into your kitchen- It was freezing out)
-Clean your hands
-Rub the back side of your panel down with white spirits
-Apply double sided tape to the reverse edge of your cut lines
-Remove protective backing from acrylic, carefully line up and press down on the tape - You only get one crack at this bit.

-Admire your work

(Nb- those of you with black cases will be left with silver metal showing where you cut the pannel. If it were me, wait until youre going to re-spray you case before you do any cutting work, or you can apply low profile trim)
