Just wondering as i have the game, but my computer is away at the minute getting fixed

System specs are

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor 3.40 GHz
8 GB of ddr 3 memory
2 GB 6950
500 gb HDD
windows 7 64 bit

I game at 1680 x 1050, would the game be smooth at that res at high settings ? or what settings can i expect to get ? thanks !

Sorry, i don't check FPS in games, if it runs smoothly that is good enough for me! Especially in a game like this, it is hardly a competitive shooter.

I think you are undervaluing your 6950

Had
quad core Q8300 @ 2.8
4gig of ddr 2
8800GT

Game ran at 25-30 fps with everything on low.
Swapped out the 8800gt for an ATi 6870, now get 55-60 with everying on full (apart from ubersampling, never even botherd playing with it on)

It may be wise to note that somethings on the setup menu can be turned off to get the game looking better. There is a link in the Witcher 2 thread somewhere that goes to a site that has a thorough run through of the settings and how much impact they have.

Its all a little irrelevant, when you are playing the game you dont tend to notice the difference between high and low. Only when you post screen shots in the screenshot thread do you start to pay attention. The only thing you will notice is when your FPS goes down to 30ish.

Game will run very smoothly indeed, i have exactly the same cpu and gpu(and 8gb ram) and i maxed everything bar Ubersampling at 1920x1080

I've got a faster CPU (Phenom X6 @3.8), faster GPU (5870 PCS++), and I can't max the game out at 1680x1050 - it's very nearly maxed, but certain scenes cause a little chug.
