the witcher 2 on steam wont start, anyone had this?

hey guys,

i bought witcher 2 on steam the other day and just went to run it and it wont start.

i have tried verifying cache but still no joy, is this a common problem with this game?
anybody know of a fix?

system spec
FX 8350
asus crosshair v formula z
corsair xms3 1600mhz 2x4gb
gigabyte gtx970 G1
antec 750w
crucial m4 256
ocz vertex 2e 120
1tb hdd

just tried it myself and had no problems, cant offer much help other then recommending a re-intstall

What does it do? Does the game launcher actually start, and then you can't launch it from that?

Some steam games need to be run as administrator, might be worth a try? (find the exe in the steam folder and right click properties).

Could be msi afterburner or antivirus stopping it.

Do you have it installed on a drive other than your main windows drive?

the witcher 2 logo/head appears in the middle of the screen then closes and thats it

tried that, still no joy

I had problems with this game,sometimes even now.
For me unistalling the game,close steam,run as admin and installed it again,worked.
Each time a play this game I run steam as admin.
What graphic option did you set?
For some odd reason game doesn't like OC on my i3570k,so I use stock clocks.
