The Witcher 3: will it be completely open-world sandbox?

Hey OcUK Ive watched some vids of Witcher 3 and it looks amazing :eek:

Its only out next year though

Anyways from those of you that know - will this be a GTA/Fallout/Skyrim-style sandbox environment? Go anywhere, do as you please sorta thing?

I hope so because the environment & terrain look mind-blowing:

It looks epic I really can't wait. its going to be open world ala Skyrim but with sailing

I think there will be some kind of main quest/cause and consequence progression of areas too if I remember right.

Ahh cool good to know! I cant wait either but I have a feeling it will bring PC to its knees if I want all the graphics options rammed to max

Yeah me too, I'm hoping to have got an extra GTX780 to run in SLI by that time and a 4K screen too

The game will support a rez like that? Will be cool if it does!

How fast things move in this industry. At one stroke this game has made Skyrim look dated. Although I acknowledge the eye-candy mods for Skyrim make it look amazing.

Just couldnt get into it though, its turned into a hiking simulator for me

Witcher 3 looks loads of fun though and I like its darker feel.

They should support 4K I reckon, may melt my rig tho lol. You played the previous games Katana, Witcher 2 was pretty demanding too, managed to get through it with my old 7870 not on max settings though.

Hmm actually I never even thought of that! Is W2 also free-roamer sandbox-style?

Witcher 2 is actually more linear with open areas but it's still a really good RPG, one of best I've ever played.

The storyline leads into Witcher 3 so deffo worth a playthrough while you are waiting for 3

Ahh ok I think Ill get it. I admit I only exclusively play sandboxers but I think this sounds good and like you say leads into W3 so will be good to get a backstory.

And I like how they CBA with rushing it out. They are like "Wait till 2015 and stop crying, we wanna make it brilliant"

In the meantime I might have to reinstall Skyrim and mod it up to look good and just have a wander about doing the mini missions. Should keep me going in the fantasy sandboxer dept till W3 comes out. Also Im gonna wait till W3 to get a new rig.
