The Witcher - Enhanced Edition

One of my all-time favourite games, and one of the few I've bought twice - the original, then the enhanced edition.

me too the original and disc and enhanced on steam. Havent completed either of them i got halfway through act 2 and ended up formatting my hard drive for other reasons and forgot to backup saves.
Im gonna give it another go today i should finish it before witcher 2 comes out:)

The original Witcher had a lot of bugs in it, the enhanced edition has fixed these. Great game even by todays standards.

Whats the difference? Is it just the Enhanced Edition at the latest patch or something? Don't recall there being any addons or DLC (i did get a couple of extra 'campaigns' when i upgraded to EE but they seemed a bit detached so died 5 mins in and never tried it again).

Probably the right version to go for though.
Not sure what the standard EE included, but I *think* the Platinum Edition said something about being patched, containing the OST, some extra content (possibly fan-made?!) and being DRM free? Anyway, was just worried that the Platinum edition wasn't the latest and wouldn't include everything the first EE contained, but seems it is, and does :)

So, I finally completed the Witcher - I have to say, it's one of the finest games I've played. Up in the top three for gameplay, and probably number one for story. It's the only game that's taken me 60 hours without me getting completely bored, I was gripped to the end - especially in the last two acts. I was confused somewhat by the ending FMV, but after googling the ending it seems quite a few people were left wondering if you need to read the books :p

If there were decent English translations of the books, I'd love to read them.

I'm eagerly (a massive understement) awaiting the next instalment!

If you're reading this thread whilst pondering whether to pick the game up and play it, do it!

Excellent game, loved it. I brought a couple of the books that have been translated into English, I can't comment on how good they are as I havn't got around to reading them yet - I'm a bit useless like that.

anyone know a good site for the patchs?
their website gives me 10k/s!
fileplanets capped out at 100k/s but with the size of the patch I'll be here HOURS for all three!

Sorry for the HUGE bump of this thread but since this tweet is about this game and not Witcher 3, I thought I should post it at the right place. Wondering if it be a free upgrade for those that already have the original Witcher or not. Looking forward to see how it comes out in the end though, even if it takes a year or two ! :p

Link to their website about the remake as well.

Oooh, I wonder if they'll add ray tracing, would be cool.

This is going to be a full remake with all assets remade from scratch in modern tech, with different gameplay mechanics and probably even redesigned story. So no, it will not be a free "upgrade" of anything, just like Resident Evil 2 remake is not a free upgrade.

And yeah, it will be at least 4-5 years before this will come out.
