The Witcher II - repairs .NET Framework 4 every launch

Title. Everytime I try and launch this game, it reinstall/repairs .NET Framework which takes a good 5 minutes, does anyone know how to stop this?

ALSO: Is there a way to get a gamepad to work with this game? I can use my 360 controller to control the menus, but it doesn't work in game, can't move Geralt around or anything, but I can pause it!

Edit the installscript.vdf. I assume it's the Steam version.

You can add your key to GoG somehow and get a version from there if Steam is a pain. I think you can still do that anyway.
