Hi guys, I just bought the enhanced copy of the witcher yesterday and am so frustrated right now.

I have a dell xps 1530 laptop and meet the requirements of the game. Everything is fine when installation starts, but about 80% finished, it asks for the bonus disk.

When i insert the bonus disk and click enter, nothing happens and i can hear ding ding ding noises as if the disk is being banged around and then installation says no disk inserted. I tried to access the disk directly whilst not in installation but still says no disk and freezes the laptop. Tried installing over 4 times (its a long install too) and had to pull battery off laptop twice.

I have upgraded the firmware for the dvd drive and still no luck. Could this be a knackered disk or something Im not in the know of.

I have checked forums and all and several people have this issue, but either they have a copied version of a patched version(from normal edition) whilst some are having the saem issues as me, but no one has been able to help with this issue.

i don't know... i bought a used copy off of someone here and upgraded it to the EE and installation / upgrade took a while but worked perfectly.

maybe you could try grab a disk off a mate, and, and then use your disk for normal play?

I presume you bought the original copy and patched it then.

My problem or several peeps are getting is that we bought the Enhanced edition and when installing is nearly finished, it is stuck on asking for bonus disk. No matter what type of install it keeps on asking for it. I have tried full, easy, minimum and no getting out of it.

What is so frustrating is that disk 1 is perfectly ok and disk 2 just doesn't load, not in the installation or just from my computer.

going to change it today, hopefully it will fix the issue, but surely, so many peeps having the same problem?

Should have just bought the original and patched it:(

You mean using nero to mount the cd? Haven't done this in a long time, ever since started working, hardly played games etc.:(

As for making an image. I don't think I can. by simply inserting the cd into the drive and trying to explore the cd would cause the system to freeze. It would say insert disk or no disk found and eject the cd...

I was so looking forward for this :(
