A beloved Roald Dahl story about a rich man who learns about a guru who can see without using his eyes and then sets out to master the skill in order to cheat at gambling. Only on Netflix September 27.

Been waiting for this. Loved the short story growing up and I'm confident in Benedict Cumberbatch being the lead actor.

Even if it's a dud, I think Netflix spent millions on the Roald Dahl rights so we will definitely see more movies and series based on his works.

Who is this Wes Anderson bloke? I have seen his name around and I know he did a film this year, cant remember it name, nuclear family type movie. All very muted/pastel colours and sharp editing and what not. This looks good though. I like the style.

Edit: I have just IMDBd his name this video sums him up and to my surprise I has seen a few of his movies

Oh and Isle of Dogs of course! I love that film

Personally my favourite films in order of his I've seen are Grand Budapest Hotel, The Royal Tenebaums, Isle of Dogs, Moonrise Kingdom, The French Dispatch.

I couldn't get on with The Darjeeling Ltd and haven't actually finished it and not seen The Fantastic Mr Fox yet (though have been recommended it) and am going to watch Asteroid City soon, though that doesn't get very good reviews.

This is 37 minutes long according to IMDB?!
on sky arts they have the "tales of the unexpected", i think most mornings and esp at weekends - which are all under 30 mins

the first few series were intro'ed by dahl, and he wrote quite a few.

I will admit most are dated (i.e. couldn't happen now), but still worth a watch tbh and i don't think netflix could go wrong remaking these and updating them (which in a way this is a start down that path?)

would love to see an updated "fly trap", or on a lighter note "the verger"

Amazing British cast, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. A few bits are different to the original book, from memory. Not really sure why they changed it, it's not like they were time constrained. I didn't realise the whole film would be in the visual style of the trailer either, a bit annoying and gets a bit boring very quickly. BUT the cast deliver the lines amazingly and I think you could listen to the whole thing without watching and still get 90% enjoyment from the story.

I would say a 6.5/10 film for me. Thankfully it's soo short I can see myself watching it again in the future.

Visually this is a treat for the eyes like most Wes Anderson stuff. I enjoyed it and the pacing felt good for how short it was, gave the impression of a more of a theatre style show than a film, never read the short story this is based on so it was all new to me.

I loved this book as a kid and thought it was done well as a film but seemd to have lost the heart from the writing with the style.
