did anyone see this last night on the box?

i found it wierd that they had jokes about rape, paedophiles, 9/11, Tsunami's, race, handicap people etc

but by far and away the most offensive joke was the cartoon of the prophet Mohammed (excuse the spelling, and my ignorance)

surely this isnt right?

has it got to the stage where we cant laugh at our beliefs? do we take ourselves too seriously? i know loads of God and Jesus jokes ... why shouldnt there be jokes about other faiths?

and the most random thread award goes to..........................

but i guess i dont mind jokes about anything as long as its stays friendly. love thy neighbour and all that. (no im not religious but its a good moral stand point)

i crack what ever jokes i like its their beliefs not mine, dont see why they should be enforcing it on me.

Was the show about the most offensive joke by English standards, or the joke that created the most uproar? Because that one certainly did get a fuss kicked up...

who said they where enforcing it on you? why bother to tell jokes that is so so intimate to people? it effects their total way of life, who are you to make joke about it? light hearted or not!

My other half watched this, he found it hilarious. It makes a pleasant change for something on TV to go all out and not be censored up to the eyeballs. Good on Channel 4.

I can't believe they didn't actually show the 'worst joke', i had to look it up on the internet :\ It's not even that funny, maybe i don't get it. I agree, some of the other jokes were more offensive IMO.
Some were really funny though, harsh, but funny. :D

im not a muslim, im a sikh and if someone was to make a joke about any one of ten guru's in my religion or about my religion in general, and was in the same room as me, they would need serious medical attention and would probably be scarred for life in various places

For it being of explicit content or not being PC? Edited it anyway just in case.

Guy who quoted me, you'll need to edit it too.

for the term 'bj'

i found it funny to, although ironic that they showed all this sick but funny stuff, and when it came to the most offensive joke ... they censored it and wouldnt show it !!

they said they where too scared of the muslim community !!

Hey, as long as you only tell a joke for the fun of, it's all good, of course people might give you crap, but who cares? Although I can see you having a few problems if, for example, you start a joke saying how dumb women are for getting raped, in your workplace, to chicks :D

How did they define "offensive" was it "most people who complained about being offended"? It probably met that criteria.

Personally, I'd find it more offensive to be called a sheep shagger than to have someone draw a picture of the founder of my religion, but if Welsh people got offended at being called that then we'd never get any work done, would we? ;)

what is the definition of a joke.

to me it means a short(ish) story with a punchline that will make me laugh.

Something that amuses me.

There are some things that are not PC but at which I will still gauffaw and others that will not amuse me at all and I find offensive but others will laugh at.

Religious nutter.
Says what religion is all about when someone will resort to violence to a "blasphemer"

I see we haven't changed in 2000 years due to religion.
