The Worst Official Controller

Megadrive- that horrible d-pad!

Original Xbox buttons were pretty shocking, would spend 1/2 my time looking down trying to find what i should be pressing.

Edit:adding the atari 2600 stick, i was only a young 1 and struggled to move the damn thing!

No Dreamcast Sonny?

nah mate, i used to be a very big sony fanboy, it's probably a good thing i didnt get it, because it did fail pretty soon after launch, it lasted 2 years or something, i did like the mega drive and master system but mt cousins had a snes and my neighbour had an n64 so i used to go round and play theirs and i thought that some of their games were a lot better but i never bought into nintendo, in fact i have only ever owned 1 nintendo console and that is the wii, whereas i have owned 6 sony consoles (ps1, 2 x ps2, ps3, 2 x psp), all of which still work to this day, i must admit though the graphics on the dreamcast were very good its just the fact that sony had built up a monopoly of the market, i turned against sony when the original xbox was released and became an xbox fanboy, until my 360 broke after 1 week and then my replacement broke after 6 months, now i do not have allegiance to any company, i have played every decent console released since the master system to great depth, and owned many of them apart from the dreamcast, i never played it, not even once, hardly anyone bought it, in fact i dont know anyone who did, sony killed them off which wa a great shame, sony also killed nintendo off, and they were struggling, they needed the wii to be a hit, they had to do something different and luckily have succeded, hopefully their next console will be able to compete with sony's ps4 and xbox 3 when it comes to cpu power, graphics power and games, i actually dont like sony that much now, after producing so many quality products, they failed big time in the online market, and have now lost most of their exclusives, i would like to see sega making a return but it will never happen, it costs billions to enter the console market and it is a big risk, hopefully nintendo and xbox will give sony a battering and force them to pull their finger out, but people will still buy sony simply due to the brand name, how many ps2's were sold? something like 200 million, its hard to compete with a company that has a reputation like that

Shame, You missed out on some of the best games ever made.

Original Xbox was too big, thats the only controller i ever hated, also the Sony design is getting a bit of a joke now.

on the dreamcast? care to mention a few? im pretty sure most dreamcast games were released on other consoles at some point in time.

i know crazy taxi was released onto other consoles after dreamcast failed, i genuinely believe it didnt have good exclusives, maybe 1 or 2 but not enough to keep the console alive, it came too late, sony had already took over

Atari 2600 followed closely by the Atari Jaguar.

Not a fan of Sony's controllers either, but they're not as bad as Atari's attempts.

Cant name any off the top of my head, but a mate of mine had a Dreamcast, PS1, PS2 and an N64, and we always ended up on the Dreamcast.

out of those 4 consoles it would have to be, goldeneye on the n64, or pes on the ps2, or timesplitters on the ps2, or taking turns on gta 3 on the ps2

i think the best 2 player game i ever played was command and conquer on the ps1, you needed two consoles, a link up cable, 2 discs and 2 tv's

luckily me and my mate loved command and conquer and i used to take my console round to his house 1 day and then he took his round to mine, then we would face the tv's away from each other, then spend the next half an hour building up an army before attacking, for some reason i always used to get raped at this version of the game, but i was always unbeatable at tiberian sun on the pc, i made the top rankings every month on that, and thats with people using cheats against me

how could i forget

gran turismo - any one of them up until 4 (4 was crap), i dont know how anybody could choose a dreamcast over a console which had so many fantastic exclusives, for every good game on the dreamcast the ps2 had 100 better ones

Neither of us could stand football games, tried timesplitters but preferred red faction, and we never done goldeneye (criminal!). We used to sit for hours on GTA3 and Vice City looking for the hidden packages, took a few weeks to get them all.

Cant remember the name of it, but there was like a stunt car game on the Dreamcast, san francisco 2000 or summit (i think) and we used to spend hours on it.

Yep, the problem were, like yourself, there were a lot of Sony fanboys who waited for the Playstation 2, which was tragic as the PS2 launched in terrible condition with a poor lineup of games (though Gran Turismo 3 wasn't too far behind launch - 6 months IIRC), where as the Dreamcast launched brilliantly and maintained a fantastic release schedule of great games.

A lot of people out there, myself included, still list the Dreamcast as the best console ever made, the games were brilliant, it was just too ahead of its time with online multiplayer and VMU memory cards, it was a huge cost to Sega and without people buying it, it crippled them.

So basically, you helped kill Sega. Hope you're proud of yourself!:p

Crazy Taxi, Ikaruga, Shemue, Shenmue 2, Virtua Tennis, Samba De Amigo, Soul Calibur, Power Stone, Phantasy Star Online, Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, Power Stone 2, Jet Grind Radio, Ecco the Dolphin, Space Channel 5, Skies of Arcadia, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Virtua Fighter 3, Chu Chu Rocket, House of the Dead 2, Toy Commander, Quake 3 Arena.

Off the top of my head.

You summed up what I was about to say.

I'll probably get flamed for this, but any PS controller with analogue sticks.

It's just way too small for my hands and it's very awkward to use the analogue sticks and my hands end up cramped and hurting after 30mins to an hour.

I'm probably in the minority though as I love the original Xbox controller :p

I don't have feminine/japanese hands which is why I struggle with the PS pads.
