So AMD Users are going to hate me. Seriously if it not the cable?

but just putting it out their. just took my faulty 7990 [artfiects] out my Case & changed it with a 570 2.5GB that i had spare.

The Picture quality Is epic compared to the 7990.....

All the text is sharper & crisp. And colours are better

but im not sure why...

So i had to change 7990 to 570 & DP-MINIDP cable to DVI-DVI

any one know why it looks better now??

The HDMI on my Monitor with my 290 and the 7870XT before that is horrible, blurry washed out.... but perfect on my TV, i guess a Desktop Monitor uses different input levels from TV's and AMD have it set for TV.

Did you use the 7990 like that for how long? thinking it was normal? :D why did you not use the DVI?

i was using Display-port so its not that... :p had my 7990 for almost a year (nov)

only thing it could be is: cable - highly unlikely as its digital. Monitor settings change between inputs. Nvidia have different profile

After some Testing,

Found these:
Windows Text Feature changed settings by itself (the AA stuff in Windows)
Monitor Setting changed from a different pre-set i had to new one.
Cable - not sure it made any difference tbh (cant test) no Mini-Dp on my card
