The X-Files is reopened!

Not long now... can't wait! Hoping Sky Atlantic is picking this up straight away.

Apparently Channel 5 has picked it up??? broadcasting in February. I would have thought the same but I guess this will ensure maximum viewers hopefully leading to another series:)

21 MINUTE PROMO

....snip (ever so tempting trailer!!!!)

I'm going to assume all looks peachy???!!!! as I don't want any spoilers :o:D

i'm watching all the series plus the two films in time for the reboot.

i used one of the 'skippable' sites that separate the 'mythology' episodes from the 'standalone' ones.
i'm watching all the mythology ones, with a healthy sprinkling of well researched standalone episodes.
so far each season now lasts about 12 episodes instead of the full 20-25.

i'm still getting a bit lost!

apparently carter was tying up a lot of loose ends in season 7, as that was intended to be the last one. what made him continue on for another 2 seasons?

i'm still going to watch all the mythology episodes in s8 and 9 though.

i can see a lot of the x files when i watch fringe.

anyone else love fringe?

concerning fringe, i will leave you with six words people: JOHN NOBLE, JOHN NOBLE, JOHN NOBLE!!! :)

Love the x-files, love fringe just as much and working my way on to season 3 of the original series in preparation for this. So excited for this.

Gillian Anderson is indeed getting hotter by every year, not many woman manage that in hollywood, they usually just get faker and waxier. some just go plain yuck!

Could you imagine, john noble starring in the x-files. Man that would be some guest appearance! Fringe was always very open about how much it was influenced by the x-files, it made it what is was, gave it that unique bite 99% of shows fall far short of. Helps tremendously that john noble is an absolute legend and sublime actor. Would surely be nothing but a star role in the x-files.

a slight comparison to the original 'deep throat' in season one.
he reminds me of him definitely.

he really made the show for me, not saying he was upstaging everyone completely, but his son was somewhat flat-line emotionless compared to the 'gravitas' of walter.

i guess i should stop talking about fringe, seeing as this is an x files thread heh heh! :)

For me this gives me hope of a fringe revival one day, the two shows cater so perfectly for such a small hardcore sci-fi community but on such a large scale that reaches beyond the die hard fan. That is what made them so sublime, both of them.

I think gravitas is the most fitting way to describe walter bishop, the whole show just kinda got sucked in to him and spent the whole time orbiting the sheer freight train of a character that john noble created so perfectly.

I sincerely wish there was more shows like these two, BUT, and it's a big but, the more there is the more this very complex genre would be diluted with crap so it's a catch twenty two.

Xfiles was literally amazing until Chris carter literally lost the plot and turned mulders sisters story into the magic fairy crap. It then took a nose dive pretty quickly.

Terrible writing, terrible acting, rushed, awful filming, felt like a bad episode of CSI Wherever, which considering the shows are all terrible tv to begin with. Absolutely every single part of it was completely awful, nothing slightly redeeming about it.

Destroying a franchise in one episode... wow, first Lucas, now everyone who was involved in this abomination.
