I haven't watched this yet, but if there is going to be another season then I hope they hire more of the old writers back. From what I've read, the worst episodes of the new mini series were the ones Chris Carter had written and the best were from the other writers. Funnily enough, I also only recentry found out that Breaking Bad creator Vincent Gilligan had been a writer for some my favourite X-Files episodes in the past.
The X-Files is my favourite TV show of all time. I've watched seasons 1-9 multiple times over the years but felt 'let down' by the latest one.
Not that I've any right to expect to have enjoyed it! I know that there'll be a large dose of rose tinted spectacles, looking back at the previous seasons (1-6 especially) but... meh, I'll carry on watching to see where they take the characters but I think I'm setting myself up for a fall.
