Debuts end of Jan 2016. Really looking forward to this as I've been a long time fan of the show.

Thirteen years after the original series run, the next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES is a thrilling, six-episode event series from creator/executive producer Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Mitch Pileggi also returns as FBI Asst. Dir. Walter Skinner, Mulder and Scully’s boss, who walks a fine line between loyalty to these investigators and accountability to his superiors.

Pumped for this, huge X-files fan and I'm worried one day I'll get bored of all the great episodes. Darkness falls is a top episode!

Does anyone know when Channel 5 will be showing them in the UK? Not sure if it will be at the same time as the US or if we'll have to wait as usual....

Just currently rewatching, about half way through S2 will probably take me a good couple of months to get up to date!

does one need to have watched all of previous xfiles to watch this ?

You could probably get away with watching season 1 and the remaining feature length (double) episodes as they tend to carry most of the storyline - certainly the main themes for sure (i.e. cigarette smoking man, alien abductions, Mulder's sister etc).

Saying that, without watching the older stuff you'd miss out on episode gems such as 'Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man' in season 4 (episode 7). Brilliant and captures the real depth of the character back stories.

Re-watched this all about 4 years ago but I don't think I could justify the time now, although every now and then I put on a random episode.

Plus Mark Snow and Chris Carter team is simply genius IMO.

''Squeeze'' being one of my favourites from the first series

Not yet known when it will play on UK TV. Hopefully, something will appear with a UK date.

Well if they don't do it soon, it will be pirated. For the bigger releases like this, they really should broadcast them here first as they are 4/5 hours behind us or at the very least, the next day like GOT.

I have started to watch all the old series again.
Not watched them since they were first on TV.
Some I remember but lots I don't, It really was a great program back at the start.
