ok. Just got sky broadband with the netgear router. Trying to connect by wireless on a Sony Vaio Duron 1ghz laptop with a netgear USB NIC, and a Samsung Core2duo R20 laptop with on board wireless.. The wireless works in the same room as the router, but any other rooms, the connection drops instantly. Its a thin walled house this, the internal walls are airbrick. Sky tech help are.. umm.. well, useless doesnt quite sum it up. I think the router probably needs a better antenna (correct me if i'm wrong) although i'm surprised because the distances are only like, 10, 20 meters. I'm looking at a D-Link DWL50AT pole antenna. looks like it should fit to my router. Does anyone think this would help? or got any other ideas? this antenna is only £10. i dont want to spend £60+ on a multiple mile antenna.. lol
