Theatre Musicals

I definitely wasn't :o going through the thread quoting every incorrect spelling in abject rage, until I saw your correction... :p

I'm not a big fan myself but was taken to see the MJ musical for work at Christmas. That was good fun if you like his music. Obviously has a fair amount of dancing in.

But otherwise I'd suggest Chicago if it's still going? Went to see it years ago because my girlfriend liked the movie. Seats near the front were definitely worthwhile and will help keep you more entertained - given the costumes etc. ;)

Depends what you class as a musical imo. I love going to the theatre but can't stand "full" musicals, like say Les Miserable, where they sing instead of talk the dialogue throughout the play. Whereas I can really enjoy a play that has lots of singing and dancing routines as long as it's spoken dialogue, like say Kinky Boots.

That is absolutely brilliant, seen it 2 or 3 times myself as well. Not being a big South Park fan I was a bit dubious about seeing it initially, but it's hilarious

Find myself singing man up to myself so many times loll

Though I am a massive South Park fan so I knew within the first few seconds I knew I was gonna have a good time

I'm still hoping for Beetlejuice to make it to the West End. I've watched a bootleg of the Broadway show and it's fun as hell. Love the cast recording too.

There were auditions for it in September last year, heard absolutely nothing more since. Apparently Alex Brightman has first dibs on the Beetlejuice role if the show does come to London, and hopefully he takes it if it happens. He's fantastic in the role.

To use this as the defacto "what play/musical" did you watch thread then, we had a free night in London on Fri so went to see Mrs Doubtfire.

Was a lot better than any of us expected, good family friendly fun. The lead guy was great, his energy made it tbh. 7/10

Tickets were pretty cheap at £36.

I really like the relatively modern ones, Mormon, Lionking, Wicked, Matilda etc. Les Mis was super boring and I left at the interval of My Fair Lady.
