Theft at work - RANT

do what they did in "The Office" nick his chair whilst he is at lunch or whatever. Gradually hide more and more until he has an empty desk.

ask to talk to him outside, punch him so his dazed steal his clothes and explain to him that since he felt the need to embarras you in front of your work colleagues, now you going to do the same and his clothes should cover the value of the phone you want back .

He'd have ~30secs to give it back to cover the situation where he was just kidding and then it would be formal complaint to his Manager. If it still wasn't back with me within say 30mins then there would be a complaint in with HR.

That way if it was still not returned I can say I've exhausted the options available to me at work and hence the only recourse is to get the Police involved.

Super glue the receiver of his desk phone to the cradle then ring the phone so when he picks it up he hits himself in the head with the phone. Now when he is lying on the ground trying to work out what happened. take your phone back ! Simple.

any update from the boss?

Well I emailed his line manager who took it in a light hearted way and effectively did nothing about it.

So now I've emailed my manager who is out to lunch at the minute. Should be back soon though.
