Theft at work - RANT

In all fairness I don't think an IT Admin is going to get another 6k unless he's on really poor money to begin with...?

The term IT Administrator has a huge range...including pay going from about 10k to 70k :)

I didn't ask for a raise, I asked to see what my wage was based on as I felt I was being paid below the market rate :)

But that's a different thread...

Ahh well looks like you have both lost any chances at a promotion, I wouldn't look favorably on this if I was a manager. I can see your predicament but in my office anyway I am sure I could have got my phone back without making a scene/resorting to violence and my social skills are very very poor. :)

Hire some chavs to stab him and take it back for some smack?

No, I would have just taken it from him or have took something else of his, either way letting this guy take something for several hours makes the OP look like a weak pathetic pleb, simply grab it out of his pocket if that is where it is, grab his balls while your at it, who cars, whats he going to do say don't touch my balls? why are you afraid? I jsut don't understand this at all lol. Maybe the social environment where I work is much more relaxed, it isnt like a school classroom.

I have to say the whole thing was very childish, if the car reader was that importnt to the guy I'd have just stumped up £12 from my pocket and told him to order his own and then get my phone back.

I had someone at work, out of pure spite take my phone out of my coat pocket, I got it back, but not by going to a manager.

Sounds like something from a school playground...

Don't borrow from people if you can't look after it, when you did lose it you should have just stumped up the cash there and then, or did you think you could you save a few quid by ordering one yourself?

As for the over dramatic title "Theft at work" from his point of view you're the thief - although two wrongs don't make a right, at least now you'll make an effort.

Then a week ago, I thought I'd lost it I explained this to him and offered him either the cash or to order one, he asked me to order one, which I have.

Ahh right, OK - I wasn't sure how much of it was common knowledge so I was being a bit cagey.

Sorry for the OT'ness folks.

Just buy the guy a KitKat tomorrow and get over yourself. I have seen more mature behaviour at my youngest's nursery school.

For once i agree with this, a job title in some places can mean dam all.
