Thought this would spark an interesting debate.
Completely random really - one of those things they will probably be resistant to implementing but might randomly decide to add it tomorrow for whatever reason.
I don't think it would really hurt them to add it (DP adaptive sync) through - aslong as they keep on supporting and evolving gsync it stands up fairly well on its own merits and has several potential advantages to adaptive sync.
It does but then why would Nvidia card owners pay £200 to geta gsync monitor? It would still reduce gsync sales if they offered freesync though ieven if you though gysnc superior.
FreeSync - no, it's an AMD brand. Adaptive sync - yes, 100% for sure.Thought this would spark an interesting debate.
Not unless NVidia agrees. The internal electronics of G-Sync monitors come from NVidia, so only they can add adaptive sync.
it depends on the market, if freesync becomes the peoples choice then nvidia will adopt it, i think its going to be like betamax and vhs there can be only one and this will be decided by the buying public
Dont know Acer are doing a good job of frakking up g-sync monitors.
Yes - they already can support adaptive sync on their mGPUs so are just deliberately screwing their desktop customers now, if Intel support adaptive sync they'll be forced to keep up.
I thought freesync was now part of the vesa specification, and not a closed system the maker can use to screw more money out of its customers.
