Theory test and the rest

No need to worry about the mod 1, it really is a simple test. Just stay calm and you'll breeze it, I'm sure.

The mod 1 is the harder of the two tests according to most people, get that out the way and you'll realise how easy the mod 2 must be.

Good luck.

Well done on the theory pass. A quick tip for your mod 2 test (I know you gotta do mod 1 first) my instructor told me to reverse the bike into its parking space as we arrived at the test centre, as it will be facing the correct way before you start the test and it will be one less thing to worry about when you walk out with the examiner. Also bear in mind your test is deemed to have begun as soon as you walk out of the test centre...so remember that life saver as you pull out of the parking space.

Good luck on Monday.

I did that on my test as I think I read about it on here. It was a brilliant tip as the potential for messing something up is much higher with the nerves you have at the start of the test. Another student saw me reversing it into the space, said "You know what, that's a really good idea!" and then did exactly the same.

Was 4 minutes late for my MOD1 due to my satnav taking me to the wrong side of goven, then I got stopped by every traffic light! :( Guy says I was lucky =P Went straight out and did it and passed! :D Only one fault (Not doing Lifesave when pulling away from emergency stop). Yey only 1 more test to go and im done! Going to try and book it now :)

Nice one! (The pass, not the being late :p)

Good luck for mod 2! Just remember that if you start turning left instead of right, or you take the wrong exit at the roundabout then keep going with it. You can't get any faults for going in the wrong direction but you can for changing your mind mid-manoeuver!

Thanks guys

Well I can either do my MOD2 tomorrow or wednesday, should I book a lession with my local school on tuesday and do the test on wednesday or just go for my test?

Whichever day you do it leave a little earlier. If your mod 2 examiner is anything like mine was you may not be so lucky if you're late. Mine was a miserable sod but my mod 1 examiner was really laid back.

Oh and congratulations. 1 more and it's all over.

It might be worth doing a lesson just to iron out any possible problems. An instructor will know what the examiner is looking for and might spot issues with your riding that you haven't.

Also, don't forget to always obey the two second rule. They can mark you down if you get closer than that to the vehicle in front.

Well done on the pass. My instructor told me to ride it like I had just nicked it...lol don't think he meant it literally :D

Get chased by the cops and crash into a tree? My mod 2 would have been great fun if I'd done only half of that.

Got a good lesson today, guy told me what routes I could be going on my MOD2 then we went out for about and hour and a half down to kilmarnock. Every thing was okay except from once where I went in the right hand lane on a roundabout where I was going straight on but my procedure was good. When we got back he then asked me possible questions about pillions and the bike which I could be asked then explaned them all.

He said he would be very suprised if I don't pass tomorrow and not to get too worried.

Failed my MOD2, words can not describe how gutted I am really :( NSL road onto another and it was a junction. The road I was turning onto had a blind summit bridge on the right and I was turning left, stopped looked both ways saw it was clear then did my lifesavre as I was taking off and when I looked at the bridge a car was flying but I was already half way ot on the road, the car breaked heavly and I accelerated away as fast as I could to stop the guy hitting me :( . The examiner was not happy at all but he still made me finish the test and then told me to come back In a few weeks after some lessons :(

After 10 months on riding I have never cut someone off or pulled out on somone but today was the day it had to happen eh!?

I don't know the roads up there either which makes it harder and I can't get lessons up there its B*******E!

Never mind, you'll get it sooner or later. I failed first time as well because as I was coming up to a roundabout, I think nerves got to me and I didn't see the lane split into two so of course I ended up in the wrong lane for where I was going. You'll probably nail it second time.

I almost failed my mod 2 as I turned back into the test center at the end of the test. As I was turning right, across a 2 lane road over a box junction that had traffic lights on red stopping the traffic, a car behind the car at the box junction, decided to move out into the outside lane just after I committed to the turn. The examiner told me if I'd gone a second later I'd have failed as the car would have had to brake. Even though this car never indicated he said I should have anticipated it.

It doesn't take much to fail and there's no shame in not passing first time. Don't let it get you down and be prepared for next time when you pass. Plenty of people say the best riders fail their first test. I'm not one of those people :p
