Theory test software

Looking at theory test software to buy for practice.

There are 2 to go with,Do you really think the "Official" is anything diffrent from the cheaper alternative?

Driving Theory Test Success All Tests PC DVD-ROM 2013.
The Official DSA Complete Theory Test Kit 2013 by Driving Standards Agency

The official is double the price...what's your thoughts?

Save yourself the money and look at the free online tests. I studied the night before and passed the next day.

My friend just passed today after using the official one only. Not the brightest spark when it comes to cars either.

I used the official iphone app, only a couple of quid and includes the hazard perception. It was all I used and I passed first time.

I used the top one in the OP, passed first time with almost 100% correct (the questions side). Slight rewording on one question caught me out

The hazard perception training is a load of paff though, the vids are low quality and everyone's definition of a hazard seems to vary.
