oh yeah PSN why in gods green earth cant you delete more than one msg at a time? some ppl must have HUGE blisters on their thumbs going through them em one by one...

erm... you can :confused:

Just go to your message box icon (not the actually friends icon) and then go to the message received icon and press triangle - you get the option to delete from there and it deletes everything. Repeat for messages sent.

Sorry if it's not a clear description of where to go but I'm not in front of my PS3.

You can mark them for protection from mass deletes though, which is essentially the same thing

Point at a message you want to keep, press triangle, then select protect (iirc)
