There's definitely something wrong with my Temps

Hi there guys, my Q6600 has been running fine under a Tuniq Tower at 3GHz lately but now I notice that at idle the temps read:

0: 46
1: 47
2: 36
3: 37

There's a rough 10 degree difference between the pairs of cores! It's the first time I'm seeing this, what are the first precautionary measures that I should take?

Edit: Okay now I notice the first two cores are at about 75% load... But are these temperatures a bit high anyway? At least for the latter two? Or is that the temperature from the former two just being spread well over the die?

Thanks in advance.

Quite common on Q6600 for 2 cores to be 5-10C hotter. If they were equal before then the sink might need a reseat, but if not its ok.

Were the temps more even previously? Differences between cores is pretty normal on quads. For idle the higher two are a bit steep, but load temps are the ones to keep an eye on. Perhaps a reseat and re paste of the cooler will help.

Yeah the temperatures were a bit closer before. I'll do a few load tests and get back to you guys. No harm in a little reseat... except it's a mild pain to do with the Tuniq Tower.

These temps are with the CPU fan at max and all case fans at minimum (sub 10%) in an Antec 300 kitted with Bitfenix Spectre Pros.
