got a lot of stuff coming tommorrow for me to build my new pc.. silly question probably.. bought a i5 2500k oem and a Hyper 412S coolermaster cpu fan.. will either come with thermal compound.. do i need it? assumed it'd come with one of those but only just thought about it after watching some vids.

Don't do the Pea sized blob method with that cooler, it has direct heatpipe contact in the base so there will be small groves between the pipes, a line method is best, its similar to what its little brother needs - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18393249
