I am going to be putting my pc together tonight as I needed to take it apart to rectify problems with my water cooling. I have a tube of akaska thermal compound which I used last time but was wondering the different types of thermal compound make much difference?
I have actually ordered some Artic silver 5 but it seems to have gone missing in the post and I don't really want to have to wait for it to show up/ for me to order another tube before I put my pc together again.
How much difference will there be between the 2 types of thermal compound, is it enough to warrant me to put off re building my pc to wait for the AS5? I could use the akaska stuff and then when the AS5 actually turns up clean the cpu and block and re apply with AS5 but I am not sure how easy it would be. My loop is pretty small and tight so there may not be enough slack to remove the block and I don't want to have to drain the loop just to change the compound.
