I've read that they don't fit on the z790 as the stock screw is a tad shorter is this true.

I’ve used the thermal right equivalent on my z760i gaming edge motherboard and worked a treat.
Thermalright have much better economies of scale and is just the same quality but 1/4 of the price.
I’ll try and send a pic later

Works fine on my Asus Z790 Extreme.

You could tell the screws could do with being slightly longer, but they do fit.
Just make sure you pull the board from the case and install on a flat surface.

Ordered a thermaltake frame for £9 can't belive the price difference as it seems just as good as the grizzly one.

Congrats!..well worth it
Theres a comparison done on youtube. Pretty much the same.Thermalright nailed it for the money The frame feels a lot more robust and secure than the bog std.
Looks the part too even though its covered

Need to sort out some good thermal paste as the mx 4 I had could be from a old bad batch.

Just waiting for my bits to arrive too, got the powersupply and one nvme so far haha (the drives are tiny!). I really struggled with board choice but went with the HERO in the end because I wanted quicksync available and the backup video ports.

What are people thinking about windows OS, is 11 good to install now or should people stick to win 10?

I normally give it approximately a year for a new OS to be out before making it my full-time OS; that was last October for Win11 and I've been using it since then and it's been rock sold.

It has some great features (love the new Explorer) and if you're on Alder/Raptorlake then it's pretty much a prerequisite to optimise your CPU.

I’ve just repasted GPU using thermal grizzly kryonaught and thermalright thermal pads which have double the thermal conductivity.
GPU was crashing and I imagine memory overheating
Just ran half an hour of heaven no crashes and temp in div 2 has dropped from 83 to 77

Contacted thermal grizzly and they told me the contract frame now comes with longer socket screws, only reason I bought the thermaltake frame was the price and it works just as well.
