I see these CPU guards are now on the website, but do we have any indication of they will be in stock? currently showing as pre-order and i couldn't see any indication of release date etc...

You don’t need them, you can just cut some electrical tape between the gaps if you want to keep them clean of thermal paste.
i am too lazy for that, am ordering some new paste anyway as i think i have managed to wangle a new AM4 retention kit for my AIO out of corsair so i shall be reseating the cooler and repasting at some point, figured i get these at the same time.

Fair enough. I used electrical tape and it took a few minutes to cut some pieces up and cover the contacts.
I have had confirmation from Corsair they have despatched my new retention kit and i think its going to beat my thermal paste and CPU guard here because the order looks like it is being held pending arrival of the cpu guard stcok

If you are making a single PC then I can't see it making much sense to spend money on one of these, but if you're re-pasting your CPU multiple times (product testing etc) or building multiple PC's per day then I can see it make a "slight" time-saving/neatness difference, but even then the cost vs benefit seems to be veryyyyy close to "not worth it".
