Thermal pad question

Can I cut this Coollaboratory Liquid MetalPad into smaller pieces to use as a replacement for the thermal pads they give you with a EK gpu block?
I've just bought a 580gtx block second hand and it came with no pads just wondered if I could use this and cut it up into smaller pieces?

Logically it should be fine. Can't see any reason why you couldn't.

check the thickness of the pad - if too thick then it will reduce contact over the gpu.
The pads also need to get hot (as all liquid metail products do) before they work well.
The ram may never get hot enought for a reflow (but then it doesn't really need cooling anyway)
