right i got u now i thinik all stick to the pads as i heard and read horror stories on that liquid stuff. also does it matter the thickness of the pads?? i know on EK website it says o.5mm and 1mm thickness for the waterblock but would it make that much dif if i put the 1mm thick pads on the memory thats supposed to be 0.5mm???
Well, it depends if that will put too much pressure on the components, and that depends on the pads, some squish more than others and I've not used the linked pads.
The pads and the paste are for different parts of the block, the cool labs goes where you would put the thermal paste, I wouldn't advise using pads on the die
Sry, I must have misunderstood, I just wanted to make sure you didn't put it in the wrong place.
God the cool labs stuff would make a bloody mess of a GPU if you did that
Thickness of the pads does matter. Not all pads will compress much plus squishing pads down is going to put extra stress on the components and pcb. If the pads do not compress enough you may also end up with poor or no contact on the core. Always best to get the correct thickness pads.
