You don't see a whole lot written about these, or availability?

Any do's/don'ts when buying/fitting? Are they needed at all? - Can I just use TIM?

The bay seems the only place where you can pick up pads of any variety and thickness. OcUK doesn't appear to sell any unless I am looking incorrectly?

Thanks :)

You can use TIM where the block instructions say you can. That's because the block will make proper contact at those select points. However the VRM/Memory chips have pads because the gap between them and the block is a bit bigger than TIM is effective for. If you use TIM on those sections the block will either not make contact or the TIM would have to be on thick to contact the block.

The pads are there because they can fill the gap, compress when block is mounted and still dissipate the heat even though they may be 1-2mm thick.

Yes you're right OcUK doesn't have any thermal pads. They have an AKASA one but that's an adhesive one. Probably wouldn't want that on your GPU if you wanted to change pads later on.
