I am overhauling my loop a bit and i got a block for my X79 Sabertooth VRM's/MOSFET's and EK recommends using paste along with the pads, anyone done this before? is there any benefit? would it be advisable to do the same with the pads on my 7970's?

Hi, they do say dab a bit of paste on to hold the pads in place if l remember rightly while fitting the block and paste for the GPU core. This is what l did when fitting my EK GPU block.

Instructions that came with my gpu block (7970 too) told me to put some paste under the pads for 'increased efficiency' - figured it couldn't hurt.

Only thing it did specify was not to use conductive paste.

Rather envious of that build log, looking good!

I will be damned if I can find the single slot brackets for the 7970's anywhere in the UK though! Been hunting everywhere!

i used a company based in Germany, type in google "Watercool Single slot cover Radeon HD 79X0" there are a few companies out there selling them (dont always have stock though)
