thermal pads?

hi,

just applying my new heatsink to my new cpu 2nyt and i have bought A.silver 5.

just read instructions and it sed remove the thermal pad from heatsink... can the thermal pad be used instead ov a compound?

oviously am going to still use the A.sliver 5 but i just wanted to clear this up???

Yes you can use the supplied TIM (pad)

but if you are using AS then you need remove the pad before applying new TIM..

Remove the pad using a lint free cloth and some TIM remover but tissue and denature alcohol will do. Don’t use meths or white spirit. Once all off, leave to dry.
