Hello all,
Hopefully a quick question. I am fixing up some of my old components into a make-shift rig.
I used a custom WC loop on my old components but will be switching back to the stock coolers for this (too much hassle for the 2-3 months intended use)
I still have my stock cooler for my aging 4870x2 but unfortunately I threw away most of the thermal pads that used to cover the ram chips. The only pad-ish looking thing i can find on OcUK is this:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=TH-001-AK
Would this work (without permenantly bonding the stock cooler to the PCB) or would it be better to use a thick-ish paste? e.g.

Thanks for your help!
