thermal paste and overclocking

Hello,
Im a noob to overclocking and i really would like some info on how to overclock, what cpu cooler would be recommended that is under £40 and do i need to buy thermal paste if i overclock?

Having decent thermal paste is always a good idea. What's your spec?

You will easily reach that, should reach 30 percent overclock without much hassle.

That's a nice and easy overclock, I'd go with the Hyper 212 EVO, it's a classic choice that's works really well and isn't too expensive.

Arctic Silver MX-4 is also a great thermal compound choice, I'd definitely recommend it

The 212 Evo is a classic that's been around for years. It isn't that hard to install and it'll easily cope with a 10% OC. My 4670K was running @ 4.2GHz 24/7 with no issues on a 212 Evo.

As far as paste is concerned, MX-4 is good, and at that price, you really can't go wrong.
