I recently switched motherboards so I had to remove the stock paste from my h100i, I had some IC-Diamond 7 carat laying around so used a pea size blob of that, but temps seem a bit high, can anyone recommend a paste that would work better with it?

What are your temps like?

The IC-Diamond 7 should work fine, the only issue with IC-Diamond paste is its very thick. I would reply the paste and run prime 95 for hour or 2 then the paste should thin a little and spread better because of the heat. I also think that paste needs to cure a little too.

Hi, tighten the pump screws a touch more see if that helps + l can't remember if the IC-7 has a curing period.

I can't remember myself so I thought I would say it just too be safe;) hand tighten the screws don't use screwdriver.

Hi, if you hand tighten the screws there is no way you can adequate even pressure for best optimum cooling, just take your time tighten each screw half a turn say from top right pump screw[A] to bottom left screw then to top left screw[C] to bottom right screw[D] and repeat from screw[A]. When each screw stops just tighten each screw just a touch, after a week again just tighten the screw again very slightly as the paste settles down.

I'v always down this and never had any problems as you can feel through the screwdriver as the screw gets tight, just take your time.

I've never done that and my temps on the H80i were really good, when it worked that is. I just tighten each screw until I feel a little tension in the screws then tighten all 4. Never had one issue with temps.

Probably not an issue but keep an eye on your pump. It may be slowing down a little or have some air in it.. thus not moving water as well as before and that is the problem

The reason you should tighten the pump[heatsink] down in that order is you get a more even pressure on the CPU. Thus giving you closer temps across the cores, but if you tighten one screw down tight first you will not. Give it ago and see if it makes any difference plus you might be a couple of degree's cooler.
