As paste is sold by weight rather than volume...

Should I expect the same number of applications from both of these?

Yeah but would you expect the Alumina to do 3-5 too, or would you expect 10-15?!

Most of you are missing the point... So I'll word it differently!

Will the Alumina give me more applications than the AS5, while I'm binning chips (have 2 CPU's and 2 board to bench, only keeping 1 of each)?

So the increase in mass does resolve to an increase in volume?

For some reason (probably the price point) I had in my mind that the Alumina was heavier so the volume would be the same (leading to the same number of applications) regardless the weight of the paste!

Haha yeah I've been using cheap stuff, but I now have a 2600K, 2700K with an Asus ROG Max IV E and an Asus ROG Max IV E Z to test... (I'm keeping the best of each for myself so really need to push them)!

The MX2 in an 8g pack seems the best buy of the MX pastes... But only as I know I'll never use a tube of 30g so not much point getting that much!

If only they did a tube of 15g/20g for £10 lol
