Ok I am about to order the memory for my upgrade and I do need some more thermal paste and the last time i built a pc Arctic Silvers was the dogs whatsits lol. So should i just order another batch of this or is there something better now?

arctic silver 5 and mx-2 perform so similarly that it just doesn't matter which you use

mx-2 is less conductive/capacitive/generally hazardous so is probably the better bet

im not going to wait for mx-3 personally. liquid metal is the best for temperatures and the worst for usability and ease of sourcing

MX-2 has better temperatures by several degrees, as does Ceramique, but MX-2 is a few degrees cooler than Ceramique. Neither of them require a curing time.

Ok great thanks guys, and I should have said AS 5 was what I have used before so I am glad I asked as I want to clock this 920 as far as possible on water so better temps are always welcome.

water means smaller temperature swings, which can intefere with as5 curing.

for this reason i suggest mx2

if going below ambient, ceramique wins on temperatures, but I don't think you have chilled water in mind

As l have said before As5 is oldhat, who wants to wait up to 200HRs for it to cure and settle in, when there's better TIM's that don't need to cure so you can OC striaght away.
