If you're ordering a better CPU cooler (recommended if you're going to overclock) it will come with its own thermal paste.

What if its generic white gunk? like what comes with the Akasa Venom cooler. you can get a good temp drop by using a more performance orientated paste.

Also, it is good to have a tube of paste in case you need to reseat your cooler at any time.

Personally I'd recommend IC Diamond 24 - I know it's expensive but looking at the test results in the overclocking and cooling thread, that seems to be out performing most other thermal pastes

(I know it knocked a huge amount off my load temps!)

Still using a big tube of MX-2 I got a while back and it's good gear so im sure MX-4 is even better again
