thermal paste

hmmm im utterly bewildered should you spread paste put a small rice grain sized blob in the middle use a small line. use a few blobs the variations go on and on... been watching vids on you tube everyone seems to favor a different method

the kit i bought came with a spreader but im trying the small blob method at the moment as some say spreading it causes air bubbles in the paste .

what do peeps favor on here?

I just use a small rice grain size and allow the mating process to create a thin layer.

Yep, small blob (I prefer a small grain of rice) I dont think spreading should be done, there will always be small air bubbles or imperfections if you do it that way, if you use the blob method and put the colloer down on top carefully you should have a perfect thin layer of paste with no imperfections or air bubles
