Thermal paste

I'm going to invest in the 4790k to upgrade from my 4670k, what thermal paste should I look at purchasing? I'm looking for the best bang for buck thermal paste so I can spend minimal but not suffer from excessively high temps because of it

+1 for mx4 cant go wrong and if you have searched for it then you will find that its still the best bang for buck

when i did some reading about this last week i came to the conclusion that as long as it spreads easy and is applied right they are much of a muchness

go for bang for buck!

mx-4 would be what i would get too

Never had any problems with Noctua NT-H1.

Probably the only noctua product where people don't complain about the colour scheme.

MX4 seems to be the one recommenced around here. Used it myself and a few others and honestly I couldn't tell the difference.

having used Liquid Metal Ultra for a while ... I wouldn't go back. Don't get Liquid Metal Pro ... it seems to break down easily and in some cases become corrosive.

tbh the temp diff between to really expensive stuff to mx4 is a couple of degrees so..... not game changer in my opinion

Always gone for the small blob in the middle method myself. I'm too paranoid about air bubbles to do it the other ways.

Another vote for MX-4, I've used to for years (not the same tube obviously) but I highly recommend it.

Ic diamond or arctic silver 5 have shown best results for me on CPUs and gpus.
