thermal probe & fan control

how do

are there any gadgets that have accurate thermal probes and fan control in one unit to fit in a drive bay? would be great if there was but cant find anything...

if not what do people do to get equal piece of mind and control? i'm fed up of wondering if temp software is accurate i want a second (hard wired) opinion

and fan control cuz my nice silent case just doesn't cut it... need more beef but without the noise for normal application -> fan controller...

Be nice to know this too. Having tried and failed several time to get ANY temp monitor working in Linux a hardware option is looking more attractive!

I think the device you are looking for is the mCubed T-Balancer bigNG.

I have one, I haven't fitted it yet but it has temperature probes and fan outputs and is software controlled via USB, so OK for Windows, not sure about Linux.
