Thermal Probe Problem

I recently bought an Atrix 9004 case, it comes with a thermal probe that's sleeved in some plastic for the front panel temperature read out, where would I connect this, is it to the CPU heatsink or the CPU itself.

I've got an Asus P5k board with a Q6600 cpu, any help guys?

I normaly sticky tape them to the heat sink near the base.
What ever you do make sure it isn't in between the heatsink and CPU.
